New Home has been a farming community from its founding in the early 1900s. Cotton farming remains a large part of the city’s economy and life. The students of New Home are served by New Home Independent School District, which is classified as University Interscholastic League 2A. New Home ISD educates students from preschool through 12th grade. It is a district of innovation.
Within the city of New Home, there are also several churches, businesses, and restaurants. Additionally, Lubbock is just down Slide Road, so residents of New Home have easy and quick access to healthcare, grocery stores, activities, restaurants, businesses, and more.
