New Home Tells A Story
New Home, Texas, was originally Deuce of Hearts Ranch. Like many surrounding small towns, it started as a farming and ranching community in the early 1900s. The economy of New Home has always been closely linked to farming, specifically cotton farming, and the gin in New Home works hard to produce thousands of bales each season.
New Home Independent School District is a UIL 2A District of Innovation. Serving students from preschool through 12th grade, students are valued, educated, and cared for at New Home ISD from the time they are learning to read until they are ready to go into the world. While New Home is a small community, it is growing rapidly due to its proximity to Lubbock. At New Home, you can get all the benefits of a small town with the same commodities that you would have in a larger town.
As of 2010, New Home had a population of 324 but has grown immensely in the last decade. The school moved up a classification in 2018 and has continued to attract new students as New Home has grown in population.
